Community Enhancement Program

Popo Agie Conservation District is seeking project proposals for a new Community Enhancement Program. The goal of the program is to provide incentive for residents and businesses to conserve or improve the natural resources, environment, and natural beauty of our community through conservation practices.

Funding is available from Popo Agie Conservation District to assist in the implementation of natural resource projects not to exceed $1,000 per project. All proposals must identify at least 20% in matching funds. This match can be project installation labor and/or materials but not maintenance labor or materials.

Proposals can be submitted by either individuals or groups but must be for projects that will benefit the community at large and be established on land that is accessible to the public.

The program encourages projects that benefit the public as a whole. Projects might include tree and low water use landscape plantings in public parks, along greenways, churches, cemeteries, schools; wetland improvement or development; wildlife habitat development, etc.

A maintenance plan will be required for all funded projects. The plan will include the name(s) of those persons responsible for maintaining the project once established.

A “Conservation Tax Dollars at Work” sign provided by Popo Agie Conservation District will be installed at each completed Community Enhancement Project.
