Living Snow Fence: Red Canyon

The Popo Agie Conservation District established a second living snow fence project near Red Canyon. The project consists of 1,200 Rocky Mountain Juniper and Native Plum trees to protect nearly 3,000 feet of highway frontage near the Red Canyon Scenic Overlook on Highway 28.

This project was made possible through the contributions of many local, state, and federal groups including the Bureau of Land Management for their partnership and participation, Wyoming State Forestry for their technical guidance, the Wyoming Department of Transportation for the use of their equipment and operators, and the Wyoming Honor Farm Forestry Crews for all of their dedication and labor.
