Septic Rehabilitation Project

PACD encourages Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce the potential for nonpoint source pollution. However, fecal coliform and E. coli bacteria remain an existing and potential threat to water quality within the Popo Agie Watershed. As a result, PACD applied for and received a Clean Water Act Section 319 Grant for septic system rehabilitation. The grant will provide cost-share for eligible projects with failing or inadequate septic systems for single family dwellings along the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River, from the mouth of Sinks Canyon to the confluence with the North Fork of the Popo Agie River north of Lander.

Eligible septic systems must have been installed prior to July 1, 1973. PACD will provide cost-share funding up to 50% of the total project cost, not to exceed $7,500. Technical assistance will be provided by the Fremont County Planning Department and PACD. Please contact Popo Agie Conservation District for more information at 332-3114, or download forms here.
