Watershed Planning: Middle Fork of the Popo Agie Flood Mitigation

Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River

As part of the watershed planning effort, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) completed a preliminary investigation report for flood mitigation and stream channel restoration on the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River through the City of Lander. The project will address flood events in the City of Lander as well as impacts to urban infrastructure associated with flooding.

Sponsoring agencies include the PACD, City of Lander and Fremont County Commissioners. The sponsoring agencies requested that NRCS move forward with planning, technical, and funding assistance through Public Law 83-566 Small Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Program.
