Popo Agie Watershed: Land Ownership

The majority of land in the Popo Agie River watershed consists of publicly owned federal lands including USDA Forest Service and US Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management rangelands. Wind River Indian Reservation tribal lands for the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapahoe tribes cover approximately 7.0 percent of the watershed. State of Wyoming lands comprise approximately 6.5 percent, while the remainder of the watershed is either privately owned (approximately 23 percent), county or municipal.
